Meet Our Executive Leadership Team

Jon Serbousek
Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Serbousek joined Orthofix in August 2019 and became director, President and CEO in Nov. 2019. A seasoned executive with more than 30 years’ experience in the medical device and biotech industries, Mr. Serbousek served in several leadership positions at Biomet Inc., including Worldwide President of Biomet Biologics, Worldwide Group President of Orthopedics, and President of U.S. Orthopedics. Prior to joining Biomet, he held various general management positions within Medtronic Inc., including Worldwide Division President − Spine, and Worldwide Vice President and General Manager of Biologics for their Spine and Biologics business. Additionally, Mr. Serbousek spent 13 years with DePuy Orthopedics, a Johnson & Johnson company where he served in numerous roles of increasing responsibility, including Vice President of Marketing and Product Development and Vice President of Spinal Operations. Mr. Serbousek has held numerous board positions at for profit and not-for-profit organizations. He earned his BS in Engineering from Washington State University, his MS in Bioengineering from the University of Utah, and later completed several advanced management programs including a program at the IMD International School of Management in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Doug Rice
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Rice became Chief Financial Officer of Orthofix in April 2015. He joined the Company as its Chief Accounting Officer in September 2014 and was named Interim CFO shortly thereafter. Prior to joining Orthofix, Mr. Rice served as the Chief Financial Officer of Vision Source, a national optometric network provider. He joined Vision Source from McAfee, a global antivirus software and computer security company, where he was Vice President Finance and Treasurer from 2007 until 2012, when McAfee was acquired by Intel Corporation. From 2000 to 2007, Mr. Rice was Senior Vice President and Corporate Controller of Concentra, Inc., a national healthcare service provider. He also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in various roles including Audit Manager. Mr. Rice is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA and BBA, with honors, from Southern Methodist University.

Kimberley Elting
President, Global Orthopedics

Ms. Elting joined the Orthofix Leadership team as Chief Legal Officer in September 2016, was named Chief Legal and Administrative Officer in 2017, and Chief Legal and Development Officer in 2020. She was appointed as President of Global Orthofix Orthopedics in 2022. A seasoned executive, she has a strong background in the medical device industry. Before coming to Orthofix, Elting served as General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Affairs at TriVascular Technologies, Inc. In this role, she led the legal, compliance, human resources (HR) and government affairs functions for the company. Prior to this, Elting served in various roles of increasing responsibility with St. Jude Medical including General Counsel and Vice President of HR and Health Policy for the Neuromodulation Division. Elting previously was a partner at the Jones Day law firm. A graduate of Ithaca College, Elting earned her Law Degree from the University of Denver and an LL.M. in Health Law from Loyola University Chicago.

Kevin Kenny
President, Global Spine

Mr. Kenny became President of the Global Spine business in December 2019. Mr. Kenny previously served as Vice President of U.S. Sales for Medtronic Spine and Biologics where he oversaw all sales functions for approximately 1,500 direct and non-direct sales personnel. During his nine-year tenure with Medtronic, Mr. Kenny held a variety of sales roles, each with increasing areas of responsibility.

Mr. Kenny more recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for Cardiovascular Systems Incorporated where he drove business strategies focused on developing and commercializing new products worldwide. Earlier in his career, Mr. Kenny served as Vice President of Sales for Bausch and Lomb, and also held various sales leadership roles with B. Braun/McGaw, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of medical devices.

Mr. Kenny serves on the board of directors for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association. He earned his B.S. in Business Administration from California State University in Sacramento, CA.

Ehab Esmail
Senior Vice President, Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs

Mr. Esmail joined Orthofix in 2019 as the Senior Vice President of Quality, Regulatory and Clinical Affairs. A seasoned executive with more than 26 years of diverse experience in the orthopedic medical device and biologic industries, Mr. Esmail most recently served as the Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs and Regulatory Compliance for DJO where he supported all business units covering orthopedic surgical implants, bracing and supports, foot care, consumer products and recovery science. Prior to DJO, he held leadership positions of increasing responsibility with Zimmer Biomet, Biolase, Wright Medical and Smith & Nephew. Mr. Esmail earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Memphis. He is active in many professional organizations including serving as the past President and Board Member of the Orthopedic Surgical Manufacturers Association (OSMA).

Roberto Donadello
Senior Vice President, Global Operations

Mr. Donadello joined Orthofix in 2007 as Operations Director and was promoted to Vice President of International Operations in 2009. In 2010 he assumed additional responsibilities for the International Quality & Regulatory Affairs teams. In conjunction with this, Mr. Donadello also served as the General Manager of the Orthofix Orthosonics business. In 2020 Mr. Donadello was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President, Global Operations leading worldwide Operations for the Orthofix Spine and Extremities businesses. Prior to joining Orthofix, Mr. Donadello served as Operations Director for SIAC SpA an Italian manufacturing group. He holds an Aeronautical Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Milan.



Suzanne Armstrong
Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Ms. Armstrong joined Orthofix in July 2007 and became its Vice President of Human Resources in January 2017. She is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s overall talent management strategy, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits and organizational learning and development. Prior to joining Orthofix, Ms. Armstrong spent more than 15 years in a variety of human resources roles within the life sciences and technologies industries. Ms. Armstrong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University.
